JOIN OUR LAB

UCONN UNDERGRADUATES
Undergraduate students actively participate in the general operations of our lab. Any UConn Storrs undergraduate students from any major and class year, with limited to zero research experience, can join our lab. Through being an undergraduate research assistant in our lab, you can earn 2 to 3 credits in exchange for 6 to 9 hours of research work per week in our lab. As an undergraduate research assistant, your responsibilities include annotating frame-by-frame data and transcribing experiment audios. Additionally, you will participate in community engagement work, including creating infographics and planning an event for parents of D/deaf & hard of hearing children that takes place at the end of the semester. Lastly, you will partake in our biweekly Journal Reading Event where you amongst other undergraduate students, graduate students, research scientist, primary investigator, and lab manager will discuss empirical research papers that are related to our experiments in our lab. All of these responsibilities are coupled with our fun out of the lab bonding activities where we get to informally connect with each other over exciting non-lab related events once or twice a semester. If you have an interest in joining our lab or have any questions, please feel free to email us at thehellolab@gmail.com.
During the summer, our lab will also often participate in SHARE! However, participating in SHARE is a different process than our typical recruitment, so please apply through them if you are eligible.
